Can loneliness lead to spiritual growth?

Loneliness is considered a tragedy of the modern world. Thus, it is difficult to imagine that something as unpleasant as loneliness can be a means for one to grow spiritually. In this blog post, Dr. Ibrahim Jaffe shares how loneliness can direct people to the Ultimate Reality.

Many people fall into deep loneliness for reasons such as not getting the love they desire in a relationship, not feeling the connection they seek to have, and being ostracized from their family, tribe, work, or religious movement. This sensation may have the same effect as death to some people, sometimes even feeling as if going through death while still living.

To rise from loneliness, a person must first look inside themselves to see if they are the ones setting things in motion. Maybe the reason a person is unable to receive the love they desire is their own inability to love others. Authentic spiritual growth starts within oneself. Medical spiritual healers encourage individuals to use the Divine Names of God or Allah to heal and grow spiritually. The Names of God will lead a person to purification and ascension.

According to Dr. Ibrahim Jaffe, God has given 99 of His Divine Names to be used as deep medicine for the body, heart, soul, and mind. Loneliness should not be thought of as punishment, rather an opportunity to walk deeper into Divine Love. Having been healed from loneliness drives people to help others experience deep love.
